Why We Fight For You
THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST BIG WATER
This Lawsuit Is About YOU
Since 2023, the Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD) has been charging people extra fees called Excessive Use Charges (EUCs). These fees are added when the water district says you used “too much water.”
The problem is:
-
People are not allowed to appeal or fight the charge.
-
LVVWD makes the rules, gives the charges, and decides everything with no outside check on their power.
In just the first year, LVVWD made over $31 million from these charges.
Because of the fees, many people had to cut down trees and remove grass to avoid paying more. This caused:
-
Hotter temperatures in neighborhoods,
-
Less shade,
-
Lower quality of life,
-
And financial harm for many families.
This lawsuit is trying to help everyone in the LVVWD area who has been hit with these charges since 2023.
Who Can Join the Lawsuit
Anyone in the LVVWD Service Area (map below) can join if:
-
You are a homeowner, renter, landlord, business owner, AND
-
You have received or paid an EUC charge since 2023.
Who We Help

Felicity
I’m beyond frustrated with the water district. I’ve changed my grass to turf. I’ve paid over $2,000 to have my pool go through a leak detection test, nothing was found. I’ve had my landscaper reduce the watering for my yard 3 times. I believe if I reduce it more, I will lose plants and trees. I don’t know any additional levers I can pull. If Las Vegas needs to reduce water use, please remove the trees and plants on the roadways. Don’t cause the residents to pay the price of the mistakes made by the city council.
